Try switching to sippy's cold turkey with the one year old, if you can get him to take to them fast then the 3 year old might have an easier time switching also.

I switched my daughter at 10 months, once she drank from a sippy once, I hid the rest of the bottles and she never went back.

Have you tried the sippy cups with the soft nipples? I used them to transition my DS from bottle to sippy

One thing I heard about was to make a big to do about him transitioning to "big boy" cups. Let him pick out his sippies. Tell him the "bottle fairy" is going to give his bottles to the babies and he's going to be a big boy with sippies! It's worth a try I think.

Would he be willing to use one of the more bottle like sippy cups during the day? I know we used some 'nubby' (I think) cups with a soft spout to help with the transition.

Does he have a specialist or his pedi that u might be seeing soon that u could ask for tips?

Id try to find cups they really like. We had to try a lot ofdifferent styles before we found one she would use.

he doen't comprehend the "bottle fairy" concept. I would LOVE to do that, but he doesn't get it.

It's been awhile but I think the brand is Nuby. They are cups with a silicone spout similar to the texture of a nipple. It's a good step between bottle and cup. That's how I got my second son off the bottle.

when my three year old sees a sippy cup coming towards him, even soft tip, he just loses it and starts crying "oh no, help, help. Oh no." and its SO heart breaking.

we have the tommy tippee brand sippies. They are pretty similar to bottles, but he is just so smurfing stubborn. I don't want him to get dehydrated with this heat.

Have you tried letting him drink out of a regular cup without the sippy lid? The 3yr old may like that better cause he can "be big like mommy". Might be easier to skip the sippy all together with him. It takes patience but can be done. Maybe even let him take sips from your cup first. That way he wont get dehydrted from stubborness.

Oh this just broke my heart..   If he sees his sibling with a sippy does he still refuse to have one?
