my daughter will be 4 wks tomorrow, and shes just now getting to where shell fall asleep on her own. she will only sleep in bed w us or in her bouncer.

Just remember that she's only known YOU for nine months. She probably likes sleeping on your chest because she can hear your heartbeat, your warmth, feel you breathe and the like. And believe me, I know that it can get frustrating having a child that wants to be held 24/7 [DD is 7 months and just now starting to venture on her own], but remember that she's not always going to want mommy and you'll start to miss her wanting you. Have you tried a heartbeat bear or stuffed animal or swaddling her tightly?

If I swaddled my DD like thew showed me in the hospital, then she never would have slept. I had to swaddle her so tightly that she couldnt move her arms or legs, which probably made her feel more at home anyway.
