I just have never seen a baby at any age who is completely asleep n will start crying cause they are set in a crib... if she is up n playing then yes i love for her to be in my arms n whatnot. its not like im saying never hold her.. im just wondering why she wont sleep unless in my arms... its all i do is lay flat back with her laying flat on me...

She just spent 10 months growing in you, hearing your heartbeat 24/7, smelling you,

She physically needs to be with you at all times right now.

because when shes in your arms she feels more comforted.. she feels safe when you have your arms wrapped around her and shes closeby. its a normal thing for babies to be like that.. how many babies have you been around because heck my son would do the same thing. most of the time i had to sleep with him on my chest or next to me because he hated his crib

try swaddling her. i couldnt get my daughter to sleep in a crib until last week and she is 3.5 months old. i put her in a swaddle pod, and she passes out instantly.

ETA: also subscribe to some parenting magazines, or read online articles. (there are free parenting mag subs i can send to you if you want) they talk all about the emotions of a baby, and how what you do can affect them long term. you SHOULD be holding your baby when they cry, at least for now. they need to feel safe.

It's normal, you're mom, you're her comfort. She doesn't feel safe and comfortable in the crib.

Shes used to you. When your holding her she can hear your heart, shes heard that for 9 months and shes used to your smell. I co slept with my kids until they were 5-6 months old. So i never had that problem.

swaddle her up really tight and then maybe lay her ontop of one of your shirts so she can smell you

Think of everything she has been through..Believe it or not, birth is very traumatic for a baby..They go from this warm, nice womb to alot of unknown things. She can't see very well, so it's like being blind in a very big world. HOLD that child! It's a stage that they need that love and care constantly. It's important for her growth, touch is vital for them.

She just spent the last 9 months in a warm, secure place. She is still going to crave that same security. Its not spoiling, its actually something necessary for proper development.

Then you just cosleep. Some babies won't sleep in cribs at first. My daughter never slept in one. As soon as I put her in it, she'd wake up

My Logan had issues with a crib as well, he did end up being comfortable with it...But it took a good 4 months before i could get him to nap and such in there. It's scary for them, such a big space compared to what they know.
