Well that is just absurd that someone would assume that you would want them in the room! How rude!
I am still not sure that I even want my mother in the room. My husband will be there, but I don't know about my mom yet. I come from a very close family, but I am extremely modest & don't know how I would feel about my Mom being there. She hasn't seen me naked since before I was 8 or so.
I did invite my Mom to the anatomy scan u/s. We'll see how that goes, then I'll decide about the birth.

i would just put in your birth plan.. in bold letters that you only want the dad and you mother there... if your not doing a birth plan.. get a piece of paper... fold it up in your bags.. and give it to the nurse that will be helping you... that way even if the aunt is in the room during labor they can kick her out without it being YOUR idea! Muahahahah

That makes sense that you're not too sure who you are ready to have with you in the delivery room. I had my Mom, youngest brother, and my husband with me for my first ultrasound at 12 weeks. For the anatomy ultrasound, it was just my husband and I, we were going to find out the sex and my Mom was even the one to decide that she didn't want to go because it should be a moment for just my husband and I. I love my Mommy, hehe. Whatever you choose, it'll be good!

OOOHHHH!!!!!!!! What a good idea that is! We were given a little birth plan booklet from the hospital and I had no idea what I was going to write in it, because I have never had a baby before, so don't really know what to expect. What a smartie you are!!! ;)

I just told the nurses I didn't want anybody but my finace in the room, and I told them how his family said they would be in there no matter what. My stupid nurses let people stay outside of the room, and I had to be knocked out for a c-section. So his sister and mom got to hold his hand and see him, and my ex aunt! I was so upset because they wouldn't let me see Ethan for 4 hours, but they got to see, and touchhim right after birth! You can request they stay in the waiting room though, they were just in a hurry with me and forgot to tell them to get out. Grr but I know how you feel, just tell the nurses ahead of time what you want.

My MIL invited herself to my delivery...now hubby says I have to have her in there....I asked him if he was pushing the baby out of his dick hole if he would want my mom in the room...he says its a non-issue because he isnt pushing the baby out of his dick hole. I love my MIL and all but she talks sooooooooo much I think I might strangle her when I'm in labor.
