My labor story!
posted 17th Jul '12
We welcomed baby #3 into the world on july 13, 2012 at 1016am. We had a girl!! Miss Hadley Gabrielle. She weighed in at 8lbs 7.5oz and was 20.5in long. She's perfect and so darn cute and was so worth it not finding out the gender!
My story.
After all the preterm scares this lil lady gave us, then the in labor, not in labor tricks she played led up to my fastest delivery yet!
I had been having contractions since tues around 5pm that were 5 mins apart. That lasted 24 hours of those, I was making some progress but they wouldn't get any closer then that. We called the midwife and let hr know what wasgoing on and she came and checked me. I was about 3cm still and still had thickness to my cervix, not alot but enough to not wanna poke around too much. I ended up having probably 4 sweeps done leading up to things.
Anyways thursday night my water started leaking so we called the midwife and she came to break the rest of it to kick things into gear, which didn't work cause baby was blocking with it's head. She gave us the option to get pitocin to kick things into gear cause I had been contracting and then my water was broken and id been having my bloody show for a few days. We said yes but there was no room that night so we made a plan for friday morning at 8am to meet at the hospital.
Friday morning I woke up at 5 am to pee and was having bad crampy contractions. I thought I was just nerves, but they picked up fast and I couldn't walk or talk thru them. We met the midwife at the hospital at 8, got to our room, she checked me and I was at a 5cm. She then broke the rest of my waters. I wanted natural, but I ended up asking for fentynal. Midwife said she had to check me first, needless to say I got my natural birth because it was time to push. That was at 10am, Hadley was born 16 mins later at 1016am.
I ended up getting stitches again along my scar tissue, but I feel great so far.
Hadley is such a good baby, and Kayds and Coh adore her and have been so good with her.
I'm so happy I got my natural, surprise gender birth! I'm over the moon for my kids.
I also got my placenta encapsulated. So far it's going really good.
Thanks for letting me share. I'll try and post pics soon

She does. She doesn't look 8lbs. But she does fit and they are even a bit big on her.

It's pretty cool.
I do feel like I've healed a bit faster, if that makes much sense. I also believe it's helped my milk supply a ton! Im glad I did it!

Was it easy to get through the mental block of it all?

It honestly just looks like a vitamin, that's what I call it around the kids anyways. But it didn't bother me, it seemed weirder talking about it before baby. Now it's just like eh whatever, just another pill to take.
