How soon to work out after?

I had a d&c procedure on Thursday, 5 days ago. I thought I was fully healed but yesterday I had a few blood clots and cramping. When should I be able to go for little walks with my daughter or on the treadmill? The day or so after I was cleaning up around the house and felt that I did too much after.

They told me ( I had a d & c for another reason) to treat it as though I just had a baby.
Nothing strenuous for 6 weeks.

I couldn't really do much even if I wanted to, I was in a lot of pain
