BH question

ok, so I was told that if you have 12 BH contractions in an hr that you're in labor. I was told this at an appt., it's kind of like a one on one class that my doctor recommended. Anway, I just wanted to know if this was true or not? I have them ALL the time. And actually timed them a couple nights ago and did have 12 in one hr! So I called L & D and they acted like this wasn't true, so of course I was dissapointed. lol. Have any of you ladies heard of this?

I've never heard that but I do know with my second I had them all one night and I never even dilated and ended up being induced.I think the fact that they ARE bh is the reason l&d said not to come in?

I think you also have to take into consideration how long they are lasting. I was told to go to l and d you need to have them every5-7 minutes lasting at least 20 second I believe and they have to continue for at least a half hour. Some hospitals are different. I've heard some girls say they couldn't go in till theirs were 3-5 minutes a part. Mine were so painful and coming every 5-7 minutes I didn't bother timing how long they lasted. I was in too much pain to try and went to L and D.

i agree with mama trish..had them for an entire day before and then, they just stopped..was disappointing..
but u'll know when u're in labour
