WTF? **RANT**

does a pregnant woman deserve a gift or card on mother's day if it's her first pregnancy/ child?

my husband asked me a week ago what i wanted for mother's day and i thought it was sweet of him to ask me- i said, "i dunno, something, just to know you thought of me is nice."
then saturday he went out and bought a slew of cards (moms, stepmoms, grandmas, etc)... came home and was really obvious when he grabbed mine out of the stack and hid it.
then on mothers day we made the rounds and saw all the moms...
and
i
never
got
the
card.

then i meantioned it today and said i was a little sad about it
and he said,
"you're not even a mom yet!"
whatever!
fine!
if im not a mom yet then dont act like you're gonna get me something and then not!
gosh!

A**hole!
Sorry, I think just because you aren't technically a mother yet as I am not as well..We're carrying their child, and he should of at least shown some respect for "the mother of his child"..

men are something else..

sheesh !!
Ya know for all that a pregnant lady goes through I think that she deserves a bit of recognition , esp..from her BD ...He is a jerk face for not getting you anything ...or at least giving ya a card...the card could have been handmade ..it's the thought...why are men so dense sometimes??

I dunno, especially since you're still pregnant, I think a "Thank you and Happy Mother's Day" would be just fine. I really don't know why all these chicks are expecting so much more. I think once you've pushed a baby out and taken care of it for a while you will deserve a bit more recognition. I'm pregnant too, so I'm not being biased or whatever the word is.

he did buy me a card.
he says he forgot it and now he's telling me im acting like a baby for crying about him forgetting.
maybe im psyco hormonal... but it really hurt my feelings.
he's all, "you should have reminded me."
geez! im not YOUR mom!

I think you deserve something.... especially if he asked you what you wanted!!!
I'm pregnant still, and I got pancakes(he never cooks) and he called me from work as soon as it was 12:01am to tell me happy mother's day, and he cleaned the house a little. Nothing over-the-top but we all deserve a little something.

that's just the thing- i dont really feel like i deserve anything yet...
but how could he make such a big deal out of getting me a card and then forget about me?

IMO, it's not as enjoyable until you have a baby.
But I was excited last year when I was pregnant.

He's a male. Plain and simple. Mine did the same thing saying he was going to get me something, but he didn't and I didn't really expect him to. I don't think it's that big of a deal, just gotta move on from it.

Happy Mother-to-be to you! I was a little frusterated when my boyfriend said I am not a mother yet. Well if sollown boobs, and uncomfortable sleeps, sick mornings, and eating healthier doesn't make you a mother, than I dont know what does. (ok well giving birth, but you get my point) Take a day off for yourself and celebrate pregnancy day! go get those toenails soaked and massages you deserve it. I would like to see them carry this huge belly around.
