My piercings hurt.

I have many piercings and I have never had any problems with any of them until now. All together I have four on my lip and since I have become pregnant they hurt a lot and are tender to the touch. They feel a bit swollen as well. Is this because of my pregnancy? Is this common???

you could have an infection starting in your body and is reacting to them.. you could also be having a reaction to the metals.. i personally had no issues during pregnancy

they don't feel infected, but i sure hope that's not the case! I'm going to ask my baby doctor   I think it might have something to do with the metal like you said.. thanks  

They might be rejecting. A lot of my piercings started rejecting 10 weeks into my pregnancy so I just took them out. My doctor told me that she sees it happen fairly often.

I had to take all my piercings out during pregnancy because they started to reject.. ouch!.
Sorry Momma, that might be the fate of yours as well.

Oh no :/ I had to take out my belly button one.. It started bleeding and got infected :/ I really hope I don't have to take them out..
It feels like I just got them pierced, but i've had them done forever!

I only have one in my lip, but every once in a while it just gets super sore like it's infected, only it's not. I'll clean the ring and my lip more often than I normally do, but that usually doesn't help. So strange.

Oh god   Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get over it   My baby is worth it!

i never had that problem :/ i would take out my medusa every morning when i brushed my teeth and on the day of my shower i forgot to put it back in and less then an hour i tryed to put it in and it was already closed! i never had that problem before til i was pregnant.

I think I'll probably end up taking them out if they get too bad :/

It might just have been time for the belly button ring to come out, mine came out today since it started to stretch. As for the others, you can always just put them back in or get them redone after the baby. That's what I plan on doing and probably adding a few more. lol

I never had an issue with my peircings..the only thing is I had to take out my nipple rings about 12 weeks in because my boobs were sooo sore I couldnt stand it anymore but the rest of them are fine and one is a lip ring. I guess your body could reject it though---id take them out to be on the safe side. If you want it to stay open maybe 3 times a day just stick the earing in so the hole doesnt close.

It's sad having to take out piercings. I had to take out 18... my jewelry box had never looked so full. LOL!
Then when pregnancy was over I was only able to get 8 back in. And had to get a few re-pierced.
