Quoting m o m [ s t a r ]:" ughhh! I hate it soo much! my poor pootie is a week & 2 days old & has that STUPID newborn rash & it ... [snip!] ... have any of you ladies experienced this & has anything made it better or worse? & how long before it went away? -thank you"
Maybe cradle cap?

Is it the flaky cradle cap? The hospital gave me a brush to scrub LOs scalp with during bath time and he hasn't had it since he was a week old.

ohh god I hope not! because they look the same as the rest when he was born. he has had this since birth. because the dr.s were concerned & tested it & it was the newborn rash. I hope it's not both

no it's not flaky...it's just bumps
quoteposted 16th Jul '12
hmm, idk then. LO had a few bumps after birth but they went away on its own.

Sounds like newborn rash to me. We see it a lot at work and basically it is caused by the environment. Think of it this way, your little one came from a sterile environment to a place that is not sterile at all. His skin is just reacting to his new environment. It's very normal and common in newborns and will go away on its own. It doesn't hurt or itch, it just looks like it does
