small home business opinion

posted 16th Jul '12
After baby #3 comes (February) I will have to change jobs where I can work a different shift because of the cost of daycare (now we both work M-F 8-5). So I will work a shift where I can be off and home before my husband goes to work so we can skip the daycare bill. But I am also thinking about starting a small little business from nome of making & selling bath products and a few other things. I would set up a facebook page for it and a web address for it. I would have to come up with money to get started but does this sound profitable or not?

There are so many people out there doing this. Just check out etsy. If you really need the money, then don't do it because it probably wont be very profitable. Maybe do it as a hobby for fun on the side?

I think if its a good product and can reach the right targets then you can do it. However, I dont think I would quit my job until I see how well it does.

I totally agree! If you can afford to go without a steady income then go for it. I would give it a trial run before I quit my job though. My husband quit his job to start his own business. Some months he does great other months not so well and others where there is no income from him. If I didn't have a great paying job that's pretty stable we would be screwed. Trust me it's very tough!! Hopefully you live in an area that it would market well in.
