Telling the World

To tell or not to tell...that is the question!

I''m due January 3rd. Haven't gone to the doctor yet. First appt is the 27th. I can't wait for that. I had a miscarriage a few years ago, so I'm a little cautious to tell family and friends that we're expecting. Have y'all told family members already? I'm trying to decided when and who to tell. I want to tell the world, but as I said...had a previous miscarriage so I'm a little timid.

All things so far are good for the most part. Anyone else been having a lot of cramping? Not horrible, just intermittinly. Doc said it was normal. I'm nervous because of the previous miscarriage. I guess all is well. I just can't wait until my appt in 2 weeks. My symptoms so far have been very tender breasts. Any thoughts on alleviating that? Little sick to my tummy at times. Been really tired, but I also work nights. That's been very difficult.

I just wanted to see everyone else's take on this. Thanks guys and good luck to all you new mommies!

i'd wait til you confirm it with your doctor. i know its hard not to share the news but it'll be better that way.

CONGRATS!!i waited till atleastmy first appt tillwe told mom/dad/sister/brothers andi always waited a few months, about 3,before we told everyone else. although i found out, after the fact, that my fiance told his brothers, mom and dadbefore my appt both times...what a butthead. ahahah.

Congrats! I have told only my immeadiate family and very close friends. Everyone else will be finding out after the 1st trimester.

Congrats! I am due on Christmas and my mom couldn't keep the secret any longer and told my grandma who told my aunt who told the whole family lol...so yeah they all know  

Oh yeah, I did get labs drawn last week. They confirmed that I am preggo and that things look to be where they should be.   My first MD appt is May 27th, I'll get an u/s too. I'll only be just over 8 weeks. Can you see a heartbeat that early? I really hope so. I'm hoping that that will go well. I get to have it put on a DVD. I'm going home to see family for my sister's graduation. I thought about spilling the beans to everyone then...you know, Hey I have this cool movie...it's my baby!   I thought it would be fun. How did you guys tell family? Any special way. I did tell my mother-in-law yesterday. I said..."happy mother's day, or should I say happy grandmother's day!" She is so excited. She said she had a feeling even though we didn't even tell anyone that we were trying. Mother's intuition I guess.

And thanks! I am so excited. Are you guys finding out the sex? I'm borderline on that.

I had my first ultrasound last Thursday at 6wks1day and we were able to see the heartbeat. I had to have a transvaginal ultrasound which are so fun! lol I totally want to find out the sex. I just have to wait until like August to get that far! lol

nothin too special but i brought the ultrasound from my first appt, for my sonand handed it to my mom when i got to her house. she just looked at it and cried(happy tears though

Well that gives me a little hope. Everything I'm reading says you can't hear the heartbeat w/ Doppler unti 10 weeks. I know that I'm scheduled to have an U/S the same day as my appt. I hope we can hear the heartbeat! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.
