I'm gonna brag about my DH.

Until lately, I didn't have much of a reason to brag. A few in my PT know our story and it isn't a good one. We had a little break recently and then spent a few weeks without the kids. Whatever happened in that head of his during that time period did the trick.

He used to never help around the house. NEVER. Not even with the kids.

Now, he's always helping. DD's has a poopy diaper? He's on it. DS is bugging me while I'm trying to cook? He tells him to chill out. I'm picking up around the house? He gets up and helps me until it's tidy.

After I made breakfast the other day, he walked in the kitchen and told me to go sit down, relax, and watch Bernie Mac. He cleaned off the counters, rinsed off the dishes, and put them in the sink even though he had to go to work in a couple of hours.

This is huge... and smurfing awesome. I think he realizes that my "job" as a SAHM isn't easy. I love that he's serious about changing. It makes life so much better. I can't imagine how much better counseling will make things, too (which is something he refused to do before and now he's 100% open to it).

Things are pretty sweet right about now.

What made him change? Ask him and let me know because I wish my DH would help me with the kids, clean the house, etc.

I think he realized how empty he felt without me and the kids around. He didn't see me for 2 weeks and he didn't seem them for over a month. He's been so much more patient with both of the kids. It's pretty amazing. I envy how much patience he has, actually. I'm struggling with DS.

Plus, he read some of my BG threads... and they hurt his feelings. He said they made him think and realize that I deserved more from him.

That's good he is finally changing. Just because he works & you don't doesn't mean he shouldn't ever help you out w/ the kids or around the house.

LOL, my DH and my dad should. My dad used to be a SAHD and knows how smurffy it. My mom used to let him to go Tunica every weekend just so he could wind down and get the hell away from us for a bit. LOL!
