baby shower for #3?

I'm almost 5 months pg with my third. I have a girl (  and a boy (3). My mom wants to throw me a baby shower. I don't think I really need one, but I will need new baby clothes and extras if it's a girl and warm clothes if it's a boy. What do you think? Would it be "taboo" to have a shower for #3?

if she wants to throw it, I don't see a problem. People love buying baby stuff & I'm sure they'll enjoy the shower as well

This is my third and I just had my shower on Saturday. My kids are older-8 & 14.And this is my fiance's first. I really feel like people do not have to come if they are old-fashioned about it. And we specifically did not invite a couple of my aunts because they had made comments that noone should have more than one shower. I feel like every baby deserves a shower and their own little celebration.

did u have showers with both of ur others? i had alot people that were a lil shocked i was having another shower but my first was a boy and hes almost 5 and now im having a girl and i have nothing left from him ....

Even if you have most of the stuff you already need, you will probably get lots of diapers and you will definitely need lots of those. I say if she wants to throw you a shower then have fun and let her!

What about a meet the baby for after the baby is born. Many people includeing me thinks it is very greedy to have a shower after the first baby. A meet the baby is more of come and see the baby if you bring a gift thats nice but its not expected and their is no registry. I have also seen diaper showers for 2 nd or 3 rd babies which I think is ok but their is no registy people just come and have fun and bring what ever size daipers or brand you want.

I am having my third child- 2nd baby shower on June 7th. My first were twins. My feeling is if they don't like it don't come!

Also I think its ok if the last child is at least 5 years old or more.

Why is it greedy? If you don't agree with it don't come.Do you feel the same way when someone divorces and remarries?

I think greedy was a bad word to use... Following the proper terms of etiquette your really only supposed to have one but I say go for it. Its a nice get together time for family and friends.

I dont think its taboo to have a shower for #3! I had one for my 3rd child and it was great! my boys at the time were 4y and 3yr so i needed all new stuff and we knew what we were having!! I think my third was the best because i got lots of stuff! Stuff i never got before. And at my first shower i was in the hospital so i couldnt attend and it still went down ! lol At least everybody had a good time! lol.

EVERY BABY NEEDS A CELEBRATION! I hate it when ppl make such big deals over baby showers my mother in law being on who thinks after your have had 1 baby you dont need anything else for the second. Its not greedy everyone needs a shower to gear up for the baby and just know that your family n friends are their to support u.

I think you should have a shower for every baby! It is more about celebrating a new life then getting gifts I think. You can always change it up a little, I have a friend who was having her second boy and her first was barely 2 years old and she had everything so she had a BBQ Diaper Shower. It was a lot of fun and he got lots of much needed diapers! I am having my third girl and my shower is on Sunday. My two girls are 6 and 7 and was not plannning on having anymore. I didn't save ANYTHING, I mean I had absolutely no baby stuff. So my good friend is throwing me one at her house and I can't wait. I am so excited and this week is going to be so long waiting for it! I am also going tos ee some friends I haven't seen in years so that should be fun! I say go ahead, have a shower!

If you're having a shower to actually celebrate the baby andNOT because..."you need stuff" or "you didn't save anything from the last" then that's one thing! Have the shower...celebrate the baby!

But, I've already seen several replies where peoples reasoning is because they "needed stuff" and I agree...that's alittle greedy...it's not someone else's responsibility to clothe your kids. (Said in general, not specifically to you)
