PPD
posted 14th Jul '12
My new baby is 8 days old. Since I came home from the hospital I feel more and more down and things have been unusual in my life, and I think it's because of how I'm feeling... I've been fighting with my husband, and I go through crying spells, I have no patience with my older daughter, and I'm just not myself....
I'm thinking it could be PPD, and I have an appointment with my OB on Monday... what can they do to treat this, if that is in fact what I have?
If you have it, and it has been treated, do you feel normal again?
If so, how long did it take?

It's all still pretty new, I think they don't classify it as PPD until a bit later. But something you can do is start taking omega 3's and a b complex, and maybe some b12 in addition. I have struggled with depression for years, was on drugs and the whole bit, and I am having better results with omega 3's and b than what my doctor prescribed. There is research showing omega 3's are good for brain function and mood, and b vitamins help your body cope with stress. It can't hurt you, and will most likely help. Good luck with everything!
