punching bag? (sns)

So as some of you know.....Ashtian has anger problems. He has issues dealing with things appropriately. I was thinking of buying him a punching bag when I move into the new apt.


Appropriate or no? Id rather him hit and kick the punching bag rather than me or his brothers.



ETA: at the psych the other day he removed the focalin from his med list and added adderal xr 10mg. Anyone have experience with this med?

I think it could be good for the short term

but he won't always have a punching bag to hit. he should start to learn other ways to deal with it

He wants to go to karate lessons....but I really don't have much $$ for that. There is a boxing gym near me but the people that run it speak ZERO english and me and Ashtian speak very little spanish.


There is a rock climbing gym across the street he has be bugging me to take him to...what about that? That'd help his concentration right? Im not so sure about the textures though...the walls are pretty rough. It'd be a hell of alot quieter than the karate and boxing for sure. He has some major issues with loud noises. He has to wear noise cancelling head phones at lunch time at school because the cafeteria is too loud for him.

His current list of "diagnoses" are: ADHD, ODD, possible aspergers and he is starting to show some OCD behavior. He also has some sort of gastrointestinal thing going on. He poops himself ALOT. We're not sure if its due to encopresis or some congenital abnormality.


His pedi says his noggin is REALLY big too. Like unnaturally big. He is 7 and wears a larger size hat than I do.

Im considering buying a punching bag for his teachers class room too. She has five other kids in her class who are almost exactly like him. Of course I will have to speak with her and the school principal and school psychologist.

Heh its alot for one mommy to handle too. I get practically zero help from bd with all the kids...least of all Ashtian. Bd has NEVER been to a therapy appt in three and a half years.

Its really sad j. He puts it all on me and then wonders why I get so depressed and overwhelmed. Im bipolar , adhd and have anxiety problems and I am not on any meds. I probably should be though. I need help with these kids and im not getting it. He doesn't think that Ashtians problems are nearly as bad as they are and that im over exaggerating ...but how would he know when he never goes to any of the appointments? I never get any me time. I can't even go to the grocery store by myself. Im not allowed out of the house without taking at least one kid with me. My own mother avoids spending time with me because of this. She loves her grandkids but taking them all everywhere is a huge production. She fusses at me sometimes because I yell at them alot .... but she's yelling within 5-10 minutes if we go anywhere together. I get no help with the kids, I get no help with the house cleaning. BD thinks his job in life ends with him going to work and bringing his paycheck home. He thinks he should be allowed to do as he pleases .....when he wants to do it. He is still talking to the girl he left me and the kids for last year.....but he's got a 600txt and a 750min limit.on my phone. I can't go across town and visit my mom or my sister because he thinks i'll go see the guy I was with during part of the year when we weren't together. God joanie things are so bad here and its not even funny. You know he spit in my face two weeks ago? Like full on spit in my face. He thinks he was justified in it because I may have gotten a little spray on him when I was up in his face yelling at him for something I've forgotten about now....but he did it. And then he threatened to call the cops on me when I punched him in the chest after he spit on me.

I know me and him really shouldn't be together with this kind of stuff going on, its not good for the kids, its not good for me. I have been with him since I was 19. I've worked all of 2 years in the past 12 since I was sixteen so I have next to no work experience and I can't support myself let alone the kids....and he knows that. He uses that. He hods it over my head in order to keep me under his thumb. I told him a few weeks or months ago that I wanna go back to school and get my vet tech license so I could get a decent job and eventually become a vet and all he had to say bout it was "why"

Yeah im 24 and I've not worken ( legally) since I was 18 years old. And I haven't passed highschool.
