Just wondering. Do you pity women that choose not to have children?

Not at all. They made their choice to not have kids, same as I made my choice to have kids.

Why would I?

I would only feel sorry for them if they truly wanted kids. It's not for everyone and if they didn't want them, there is no reason for pity.

Childless or childfree?

Childless implies to me that they wanted children or do want children but never had them or can't/won't for some reason. I pity them.

Childfree implies that they don't want children and made the decision not to have them. I admire them for knowing what they want and not having unwanted children. No pity at all, because there's nothing to pity, since they're making decisions based on what fulfills them. Not everyone finds children fulfilling or rewarding, and good for them for realizing it ahead of time before they pump out a couple of kids they resent and don't want to be around.

No, Everyone has that choice(if they're able to have them) Just like I did. I feel bad for women who can't have them though and really want them.

No...I dont see why anyone would pity a woman who chooses NOT to have children unless they are aborting.

How old is your friend? Your post was a bit confusing. If she CHOSE not to have children I'm sure she won't regret it and if she does, she can always go back and try for one if possible.

If she can't have children but really wants to, then I do pity her. I would suggest adopting?

Just as a side note... I do get irritated by women who use their choice to not have children to guilt you about your choice to have children. I know a few women like this. "Oh, well, I'm more spiritual/liberated/in power/blah blah because I choose to not have children."

People who do pity them piss me off. They're doing what they want to do with their lives, they don't need your god damn pity.
