Babies R Us UNSAFE PLEASE READ!!!!
posted 12th May
Okay, so I wanted to avoid using bottles with BPA in them since my baby is unborn and I still have that option, right? BPA causes diabetes, psychosematic affects, early onset of puberty, and cancer is lab animals, and they didn't need to up the amount of the chemical either, ewnough leaked from the bottles to harm the lab animals without heating.
So I called Babies R Us. I asked them if the bottles they give away (avent Naturally, 5 oz) had BPA in them. They give you a gift box when you register, including the bottle. They said that Avent has not come out with any BPA free bottles yet. I said "are you still giving them away?" She saiud yes. I asked why and she said the government hasn't stepped in yet so until they do they are going to continue to share and sell BPA bottles, they sell very well. I'm so fuckin pissed! Fuck Babies R Us!

well they have a point. the government hasn't stepped in yet to say they can not sell them yet and i'm sure when they do they'll take them off the selves but until then its up to us as parents to make sure we're not using them

just don't use it.... I dont see how that makes BRU unsafe?
It isn't mandated by the gov't to stop selling them, so technically they can give away whatever they want.

Babies R Us is one of the few places that you can find BPA free bottles, namely BornFree. In fact it's the only place I know where to find them. I think any store that sells bottles with bpa is going to say the same thing until the government steps in. Nobody wants to lose out on money unfortantly.

I agree with the other posts...until the government recalls them, they're free to give them away...you have the choice to use them or not.

It sickens me that they don't want what's best for children and would rather promote their products to make money and pretty much know they are harming children. To GIVE away dangerous bottles? It doesn't take a damn genious to know they are unsafe and by all moral standards they should have made that decision. I know legally and technically they are not wrong, but as people, they are scum.

Why does that make BRU unsafe?
nm I read your above post. Still doesn't make them unsafe. When the government puts a stop to selling and giving away these bottles, I'm sure they will be one of the first stores to do it. Until then, no one has to go get a free bottle or buy them.

Walmart pulled their shelves right away before the FDA came in.

I honestly think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

I won't give away my BPA bottles, they are going in the trash. I see no difference.
quoteposted 12th May
not here they didn't, you can still get all of the same bottles at walmart that you can get at babies r us. as long as you don't heat up the actual bottle there ok to use. the bpa is only released when the bottles are heated
quoteposted 12th May
I don't... diabetes, cancers, and other crap that this plastic hardener causes have been on the rise. I don't support that.

An article in People magazine, and NEw Parent (that I picked up at Babies R Us) disagreed with having to heat them. They said they leak more when heated, but enough is leaked without heating. The studies on this progress daily.

I think you are going a bit overboard.
BRUis volunteering to remove BPA products by the end of the year - but they dont have to. It hasnt been decided that BPA cant be sold in the US. So, dont use the bottle if you dont want to - it was free, so you arent loosing anything. That doesnt make them unsafe.
People are so paranoid about everything these days.
I still use the evilBPA bottles.
