What to do for a small bday party?

And by small, I mean my three kids and me.   Things have been pretty hectic around here, with DH in the states and me preparing to move. DD's bday is in 4 days, and I don't want her to feel forgotten, since not even DH will be here for it.

The zoo here is sad, depressing really. The animals have no habitats, just cages. After seeing it once, I refuse to support them again.
The children's museum is a good idea, though. We've lived here three years and never went because DH is a pooper LOL. Now is a really good time to go.

Oh no   I've heard the zoos there aren't quite the same as they are in the states. I would definitely do the children's museum

They're not. At least in the states, they have somewhat of a habitat. Here, it's just cages big enough to fit the animals, aside from the tigers and lions, but they were still only the size of my kitchen.

I think we're going to go to the museum. I heard they have dinosaur bones there, so that'll be cool.

hmm. Maybe get her a cake and go to the park.

That's so awful   sounds depressing!

The children's museum we have here in Portland is awesome! They have a ton of different stations, one with water, then play areas like doctor, vet, little pretend grocery store, etc. We also have a science museum that has dinosaur bones and tons of really cool stuff. My kids love the museums  

Plan a few activities for the day. Maybe breakfast, then the zoo, then the water park, dinner, movies at home and pajama party.

Go to Xystus Kids Land and afterwards treat them to Marino's Pizza and Pasta! It is right across the street.
