re: living smoke free

Quoting buzymummy:“ I am still working on quiting. I had quit for a few weeks and then when my dad started having heart trouble I picked it back up...... did you find anything that really helped you quit?”

paranoia was also what made me quit. I would get on the CDC website and look @ babies w/cleft palates and cleft lips and I couldn't touch a cigarette. That's what I would do when I'd start craving a smoke.

Quoting Mommy Mander:“ Okay, first of all, please no comments about how horrible smoking is and how it hurts the baby. Trust ... [snip!] ... of the non smokers. Okay, many of you don't undestand why I'm so excited, but I know that some of you do. I'm so happy!!!!”

I more than understand. I went from almost a pack a day before I was pg to about 2 cigarettes a day for the first week or so and now occasionally I will light one when I'm driving just to smell it (yes...I know second hand smoke is just as bad...) but no longer do I actually smoke it. So far, quitting has been the hardest part of my pregnancy. Good luck...I'm rooting for u <3

Quoting KCollins:“ Congratulations! I understand! I went from 1 1/2 packs a day to 3/day once I found out I was expecting. ... [snip!] ... 2 wks after I started cutting back I completely quit. I love the way I smell now! But I still crave them lots. Stay strong!”

I definately feel you with that. I play music, and EVERYONE that plays with us or around us, including my aunts (where I am ALL of the time) smokes. and not even one here or there, I mean they CHAIN SMOKE!!! And I just want to sit really close to them and just...breathe it in. But don't worry, I don't. I just REALLY want to

I went from smoking close to 3 packs a day (SO MANY, I know!) to maybe one or two every few weeks. My doctor said that one every now and then is ok, considering how much I've cut down. Good job to everyone who's quit... I know is tough. I've been there!
