Telling my fiance's parents.

Okay so I havent told my parents or my fiance's parents that I'm pregnant.. I have read about how you girls told your parents,but my story is a little different.

So with my mom, she will kill me because my fiance is 19 about to turn 20. She said that she would put him in jail, if she found out we were having sex or if i was pregnant. My mom acts like a child and I'm really not close to her at all! I cant stand when she acts like that. Anyways, With my fiance's parent's, they offered for us to move into their basement. They would put up a wall and we have my fiance's old bedroom. Well, we are telling them tonight and im scared. Both of his parents are very much into God. So i dont know how they will take it.  We just broke it to them that we were getting married two days ago(cause we didnt know how they would take it) ,but they took it fine and wants to help plan it.   We are scared that once we tell them that im pregnant, they wouldnt want us to move in. I can understand if they dont want us to move in after. To tell you girls the truth we think she already knows, cause she kept on sayingthat it looked like i wasgaining weight.  If you guys have any ideas how i can break it to her, that would be AWSOME! I'll read and post back after 12:30, I got to go to school.!! Friday is the BIG DAY! GRADUATION!!!!!

Honestly all you can do is be direct and upfront. They might take it hard but most parents usually come around after a little while. My mother knew before I even did, so did his mom   LOL. Everyone kept saying Jennifer you're pregnant. I'm like no I'm not! Well...Jennifer's pregnant! LOL. So honestly if you're already gaining and etc they probably already know and are just waiting for you to tell them. And his parents will most likely see this as not so bad, since you have already discussed getting married that will make them happy with you. Just be sure you're getting married for the right reasons. Not saying you're not, just make sure. Anyway that's all I can say. Just like your mom my mom knew before I knew. Once I found out for sure though and actully told her she was right she didn't freak out at as much as I thought she would! So you never know. Babies are blessings and even if they freak out in the beginning they'll come around and they'll love you, your fiancee, and your child unconditionally *sp*.

Im 17 about to turn 18 in June.

well once you turn 18 she can't do anything because you are an adult.

don't worry. Hey the way i told my family was this "so dad i am going to have a baby" he said "yeah right" (because I joke about this thing) and I said "no seriously. I am 9 weeks along' my dad "sweet". that was the convo.

but I try to bring humor in things.

she could try but it would be pointless. I was 17 and my bf was 22.
My mom considered pressing charges but knew nothing would happen & it would keep her from seein her grandchild & me, i found out a month before my 18th birthday that i was pregnant. I think once she's actually in the situation things will be different.

Thanks for the info! Im in the same spot you were in. We are telling his parents tonight and im scared as sh*t!! How did you tell your parents and his parents?
Nic(my fiance) told me that I should be the one to tell her cause that would show that i have the balls to tell her.

i told my dad first then we told my mom together. i told my parents & he told his parents. It was just better that way in our situation. My mom hadnt met my bf yet, when i told her this. But after she met him she was still disappointed but she saw that he loved me so she was somewhat ok with it. Things may be rocky at first but if your honest with her it'll be ok. Ya'll are going to get married and your starting a family, it may not be the way she wants it but its your life.

Hrmm I dunno bout that last part.. I really think HE should be the one to break the news to HIS OWN parents and vice versa.. you both plan on being present for this little get-together so that should be enough.. You'll have you chance to say your piece but if he's any kinda man worth his salt HE'LL show the balls that he's gonna need to have to be the head of a household..

I told my Mom first that we were wanting to get married but I sorta wished I had told her we were pregnant first.. I told her all in the same day though so it all came out in the end but my situation was slightly different in that my Mom loved my husband like a son already and was very happy to consent to give me away to him.. i know that can't be an easy thing for all Moms to cope with.. Just give them some time for it to sink in though - My IL's weren't too happy about the news but they came around during the end of our pregnancy and were ecstatic grandparents when it was all said and done..
