castor oil?

So I read about girls drinking castor oil, hoping to bring on labor...
and I read that it can make the baby poop inside the womb,

But is itdangerous taking castor oil to bring on labor? Or is it the fact that it's a laxitive??

Here, when you come in and are in labor, the nurse gives you a laxitive drinkand you better hope you are near a toilet in the next 15 minutes... Because you're going to empty yourself...
So that you don't accidently poo on the delivery table...

Is it the risk of it not bringing you into labor, and the baby pooing? Having to sit there swimming and breathing in it's poop?

I'm just a little confused..

I have never heard of drinking castor oil, but i do know that it is not healthy for the baby to poop inside you and then breathe it in...It can cause them to have breathing problems the rest of their lives. When this does happen, it is usually during labor, and the doctors will immediately stick a tube down their throat and suction their lungs.

As far as the Laxitive.. the doctors just don't want people shitting on the table while giving birth... I would rather the laxitive!!

Well as someone who HAS given birth before, I know the doctors don't make a big deal of defecating while pushing as it's a natural effect of the process.. Maybe aussie doctors are just a bunch of pricks..
