re: Male vs. Female Perpetrators in Sex Crimes

I forget the kids name, but this did happen a few years ago. I think the kid was either 17-18 and had consentual oral (or sex) with a 15-16 year old girl. The guy got tried and is still serving time and is considered a sexual offender. I think his case went to appeal, but lost because of the state's laws. I wish I could remember this guys name. It's a pretty sad story.

That is sad.

It bothers me the fact that a girl can call rape (falsely accusing) and ruins the life of a man because of childish selfish reasons. I understand looking into the issue to see if its true but there are many girls/women that call rape when there was no rape at all  

I have real problems with statutory rape laws, especially with them being classed as sex offenders. The law exists to protect and punish those who prey upon younger individuals, not people who have consensual sex with someone a couple of years younger. But, because of the way it's written, no such distinction is made.

And because of these girls who falsely accuse rape, it makes it harder for the girls who were really raped.

This recently happened to a co-worker of mine. He ran into his ex-girlfriend at the bar. He was extremely drunk, she was not. She took him home so he wouldn't have to walk. This guy happens to rent a room from a friend of mine, and she got home from work and yelled at his bedroom door to see if he wanted to go to the bar with her, or if he had already been. The girl comes out, wrapped in a sheet, smirking, and says "R***** just raped me." My friend looked in the room, saw our co-worker lying on the bed, and told him to get up. He was so drunk he couldn't get up. Meanwhile, the girl who made the accusation is giggling at him. My friend told the other girl to get out. This girl went to her guy friend's house, played a game and a half of beer pong, called the cops on R., and then went to bed with her guy friend (according to her, her guy friend, and the police). The cops showed up, gave R. a PBT, and he blew around 4 times over the legal limit. The cop said that he personally didn't think that R. did it. He went to talk to the girl who made the accusation. She droppped the charges the next day. However, she'd told her mother what had happened, and her mom went to R.'s day job and started screaming to anyone and everyone that he had raped her "virgin" daughter. R. lost that job, and the police are now having to investigate again. On top of it all, the girl gave R. a "little something" to remember her by, that he's on penicillin for.

I have been a victim of a date-rape scenario and I never pressed charges because of how difficult it was for me at the time. I regret it immensely now. I always wonder if he did that to anyone else. But I was young,had just turned 18,and the whole process was too overwhelming for me. So for a woman to falsely accuse a man out of spite feels like a slap in the face to all of us that have been thru it.

OMG!! That is sooo messed up!

The kicker to the whole scenario - she knows where R's other job is, and she came in last week - knowing that he works there - to apply for a job. She's done this to other guys before - usually a few months after they break up. The cops quit taking her seriously, for the most part. I feel sorry for her if she ever does truly get raped, because I can see her being in a "boy who cried wolf" situation at that point. This is a small town, everyone knows everyone else, and word gets around.

I've experienced this first hand. I was treated like I was the criminal at first untill everything was said and done. They guy got 15 years in prison for what he did to me, but the unjustice that I experienced when I said he raped me was tremendously unfair and has made me wonder just how many other girls have been treated like I was by people who were supposed to protect us.

In our experiment, though, everything was EXACTLY the same in the two scenarios. The victim (unspecified male or female) was 15, the perp was 35. I am still overwhelemed that people could justify allowing the female perp to teach and not the male perp. It's just mind boggling.

No, lol. No one really commented on it b/c we gave them clear and direct options to choose instead of leaving it open for disccusion. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if some were thinking it.
