Buying baby clothes.

Hey girls, need your input.
I am starting to nest I think. I am not having a baby shower this time around, so I am about to order some clothes. My mother keeps telling me not to buy too much b.c family will prob. buy things for the baby as well. My question is what sizes should I order? I have a few nb clothes already & I figured family & friends who will bring things for the baby will most likely buy nb.
What sizes should I order for now?

i would go with 0-3 months for now.
some babies never fit NB

i would get mostly 0-3 months and some 3-6 months

0-3 months.. and you could always start getting 3-6 months so by that time youll already have some

You might want to pick up a few preemie items. DD wasn't a preemie but was so tiny that was all that would fit

3-6 months for sure. You never know if you're going to pop out a 9 lb baby! lol.
Plus, that's when baby starts getting out of the house for more outings.

Luckily I have a few nb & preemie clothes from my DD.
Another question since I am due in sept. should I get short sleeves or long? It's not warm very long in NJ at that time.

long sleeves with pants.
Possibly some light jackets. aaaand hats!
