Nannying:How much do I charge

I'm going to be nannying my niece, how much should I charge my sister and her husband?
Should I charge by the hour, or what?
For all you mamas who've nannied,what were your rates? I told my sis I'd charge less than the local daycares' would,and I'd like to,but I also want to make a profit.

I would find the price of local daycares and then cut $50-$100 a month off your price.

If you are watching the kid on a full-time basis, the per-hour amount may not come out very high. We pay $290/week for our two kids (at a daycare) and that breaks down to $7.25/hour for two children.

well youd have to research your local daycares first and see what they are charging. here the centers charge $3/hr and the home daycares you can get as low as $2.25/hr. So you would need to know your areas prices first.

Then you can make a deal somehow. see how many hours it would be a week and lets say it was going to be $120/week for normal daycare you could charge $100. idk, thats something the two of you would have to work out.

in your area they might not. I live in a small rural poor community.

I pay my nanny $5 an hour per kid. She is an early childhood education major and CPR and first aid certified. Spendy but worth it. I give her less when she does overnights since I work nights, unless the kids were asshats

My sister watches my boys while living with us for free. We pay her $60/wk.

I pay my nanny $10 a hour, $15 a hour if the kids are sick. It works out to around $300 a week.

When i was a nanny i was paid $12/hr. If they went out of town and left the baby i would get $100 a day. And if i went on vacation with them i would get $100 a day and spending money for food and shopping.

im quitting my job and becoming a nanny. I have an Early childhood degree and dont even make as much teaching preschool as you all are paying your nannys. dang.
