Questions for anyone that lives at home with baby.

posted 11th May
My neice is 20 and still lives at home with her mom. She is due in july. She just had her baby shower this weekend but has no room for anything. How did you do the room when you and baby share it. Anything you got that really helped. We are trying to help her as much as we can but when we had my daughter we had a 3 bedroom house. If anyone has pictures can you please share them? We need to start getting all her stuff ready even her mom has no clue.

The only thing that helps is good organization and not getting to much more than you need at any certain time. It really is rough. I wish her luck.

Yeah at her baby shower she got tons of clothes going from newborn all the way up to 24 mos. I told her anything that she is not using now or wont need untill the baby is older she can store here in my storage room (in my garage).

Well i have no pictures but man we barely have any room at my house. I am married and live with my parents. Yeah i still live at home! The reason for that is my parents are old and someone tried braking i the house! So me and my husband are here now! But back to the subject! I just had my baby well almost 2 months ago, but i just got to bring her home last week. Our house is little we have 3 rooms but one room is pies the other is my parents and the other room just has all kinds of old things. So we try to make it work with the baby. My room is very tiny, yet I fit my king size bed set and my babys bassinet that is also a play pen. Its very crowed but we sacrifice the space to try to make everything fit. Just try to move things around, get rid of things she doesn't need. Things like that can help alot.

My best advice would be to start with a bassinet or a pack n play for the baby to sleep in the first few months, or a small crib that she can fit next to her bed. Focus on closet and drawer organizers (canvas ones that are easy to move around.) There are some cute ones by Koala Baby at Babies R Us or pretty much any dept store (like Wal Mart or Target.) Keep the extras to a minimum or give her gift cards so that she can buy them when she needs them instead of having to store them for a long period of time.

Hope that helps a little bit.

It's all about organization! I'm in the same situation and just didn't get alot more than I need at the time. Any extra things are in a closet in the room. It's really not hard at all to make it work.

I dont have any pictures to post (well I could if I knew how) lol but anyways my son and I, (along with the new baby) will all be sharing a room, my son and I have always shared a room sinse i cant afford a two bedroom but i have a pull out drawer thats under his crib thats where all his clothes are, and his crib is next to my bed... (but my room is big) and alot of orginazation, like the closet out in the living room all his toys are in, (not many toys are in the room) like stackables would work good to put in the closet, they have organizers you can hang on the side of the changing table which u can store stuff in, and even store stuff on the changing table shelfs ect...

alot of my stuff went in the garage (t.v. stereo, makeup table.) all my clothes and his clothes are hung up, i only have room for his crib and my bed i also have a little dresser for his bottle warmer a lamp and my alarm clock. i have one long drawer in the whole room for my socks, bras, ect. Its not that hard to make it work, you just have less room for you. and i'm not organized at all.

My baby is going to be sharing a room with me. When I got his crib, I found a good deal, I got one with the changing table, dresser drawers & shelves all in one for $118 at walmart. Its Simplicity brand & I love it. It has helped with the storage issues. I have all his 0-3 months clothes folded in the drawers, then I have a "coat" closet in my living room [which is 2 steps out of my bedroom] & i have used that for storage of stuff he'll use when hes older, like the toys, extra diapers, extra wipes, & i hung up some of his nicer clothes in there then his 3-6 months clothes so they'll be out when I need them. The rest of his clothes, 6 to 18 months, I have in 3 different storage containers in my storage area, I sorted them by age/size & labeled the outside so that way when i need them I won't have to dig thru them all.

I bought this storage shelving thing from Target for $21 that I use for his blankets, towels, etc. Its small & handy.
