How much are they asking?

First off, you can't expect your parents to come around right now to the fact that they have a pregnant teenager. I thought my mom was mean to me when I was 19 and pregnant, but she just wanted me to accomplish more in life before I had kids because they totally take over once they are born. I realize that looking back and my sons are my mothers pride and joy now.

I know you might think they are being hard on you, but they are just trying to prepare you for the real world. Having two additional people in their home does actually add up on food and utility costs, so I think it's fair. I know as a parent that I'd want to feel I did everything possible to prepare my child for living on their own someday. Believe me, people who are in their 20's when they graduate college and go out on their have a hard time coping with the fact they are now responsible for paying all of the bills.

You'll seriously look back a few years from now and wish you could tell your 16 year old self some of these things. When you parents are rough on you, it's because they love you, and sometimes that means teaching us lessons.

Then I would do that. I wouldn't want to move into his bedroom in case there were fights and he wanted you gone and they were okay with you staying.

about 500 a month. but i have to save up for everything that the baby needs before its born, pay for medical bills, and pay for all the things it will need to survive when it gets here (diapers, formula, ect.) and its too much because i work for minimum wage, & when school starts in three weeks my hours will be cut to Saturday and Sundays..

This really depends on having a sitter or daycare which is a huge financial drain, and I'm reading about more and more assistance programs getting cut to purely being for families involved in open CPS cases and one other group, but not low-income in general.

Are you not on your parents insurance?

the place i work closes at 4, so there wouldnt be time after school.

when they said i couldnt stay in the same room, i said good because being downstairs gives me the freedom to go upstairs to see him whenever, but if we get into a fight or soemthing, i have a private place to go.

When will you graduate? I would focus more on that and use weekends to buy essentials. SOmeone is offering you a place to stay for presumably free. What are the conditions, length of stay, etc? I would rather see a teen mom stay in school than drop out to work, you'll just be a burden in the long run without an education.

I agree. I would hash out terms of staying, etc, well before you make a decision though.

my mom doesnt work, and my dad owns his own business so he doesnt have insurance through a company, its just him on it.

And you aren't on any children's health insurance program? How are you going to afford that? I'm sorry, but my fast easy delivery was like 7k, I think. You should probably look into a state medical program. How will you insure the baby?

I am starting my Junior year in 3 weeks. so 2 years. they said i can stay as long as my boyfriend and i arent constantly fighting, we are both stepping up the the parenting responsibilites, we are both in school passing our classes, and still working... so as long as i follow those rules i am good to stay as long as i need to get on my feet.

we have children's insurance but it only plays a small percentage... and i still have to pay a lot..
