Routines & Diets/Eating Habits

posted 11th May
1 ) I was wondering what work out routines some of you have taken up, and how long you started them after giving birth?

2 ) I am also curious about what eating habits / dieting you have taken up as well?

3 ) Finally, how much weight you have lost and how long it took to loose it?

I do pilates and am an avid biker..I started back up full force a month after giving birth/I don't eat anything processed, mainly raw foods, and it has allowed me to keep my weight at around 105ish non pregnant.I am 5'4"by the way.Seems to me,cutting carbs is the only way I have any energy at all.

I HATE cardio but I have to do it so I find the fastest way to burn calories (about 150 for 10 mins) is to run. I run about a mile or 2 or more and then I hit the weights. The momentum alone makes your heart rate go up so you are doing cardio while getting toned.

I do Weight Watchers for my food. I love veggies anyways but ww keeps you on track. My best advice for food is to keep a journal of what you are eating. It makes you aware and accountable for what goes in your mouth.

I have lost 13lbs in 5 weeks. I have 15 more to go!

Running. Lots of running, walking, and hiking. I waited until just recently to start running, but I've always been pretty active.

As far as diets, I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. I make a spinach smoothie for breakfast every day. 2 cups of spinach, half a cup of blueberries (high in antioxidants), a frozen banana (I peel and cut them before I freeze them), and enough vanilla soy milk to make it smooth. After every run, I eat some kind of protein.

I know you have probably heard this, but the best thing to do is snack often, and don't eat huge meals. Don't crash diet and starve yourself because when you do finally eat, your body will take that food and store it as fat because it won't know when the next time you will nourish it is.

I've lost 5 lbs in about 2 weeks doing this.

Anyway, good luck!!
