Do you think it's possible for an Adult Autistic to have a child with Autism???

I mean, of course it's possible, but I've never seen any studies linking Autism with genetics... unless it's really recent.

I think anyone could have an autistic child. I don't know if there's a genetic component that would make the risk greater if one of the parents was autistic.

I have a friend. She has an Autistic daughter. She told me today shes getting tested for Adult Autism, because she says she remembers being the same way her daughter is, when she was little.

There are studies indicating that those with a family history of autism are more likely to have it. So I would say yes.

Well I certainly think so - in my case My father is Autistic and My son is also (Aspergers) so its not quite mother-son - father-son --- but close enough

Families having six kids with autism certainly implies there is a genetic link. But I believe it's a nature loads the gun, environment pulls the trigger kind of thing.

I wonder if it skipped a generation because you are female? Interesting.

My sister refuses to believe that it runs in the family, but it does. She thinks it's from vaccinations

Sorry It took so long to get back to you! and I wouldn't say "highly" but he has his moments thats for sure - mainly he hates for his schedule to be interrupted - he secludes himself from the world most of the day - he does not like peoples voices for a long period yet he walk around with his AM radio and earbuds in his ears ALL day listening to a talk show - he CANT be without it - and there are lots of other little things - the only thing that kept him focused were the horses at the horse farm he worked for and once that was pulled from underneath him he resorted to hiding again and it has been about 5 years now
