Quoting Mrs.Rachael +2:" we suspect my son has an ASD and I have had to do this many times for him. Some of his "special" toys ... [snip!] ... toys we own a few of them just in case one breaks. It's not spoiling, it's providing an outlet for their sensory overloads."

this .... i have 2 children w/ASD and i totally agree that those ''specail'' things that ASD kids choose are a sensory outlet for them.

Thanks again. I just got back from the store and got the new one. Yay!

It's just always a constant battle trying to get him to understand (with this and with everything) and he fights me on everything. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being unreasonable.

I have the same fight with my DH too, and then I sit and second guess myself wondering "wait would he really be that upset over this or am I freaking out over nothing".

I end up second guessing myself alll the time. But there are so few things she actually has a real interest in. That actually gets her to speak and count. I think it's important.

I guess maybe because she's not severely autistic, he doesn't really see it. I dunno.

I'm glad I got it anyway though.
