Today

I got my surgical abortion, My mom and dad took me as my amazing friend stayed at our house and took care of my daughter...so there ride there was horrrrrible, so much traffic and i was puking the entire time, well finally we get there, and the room was full of girls, they all just stared at me, i filled out my paper work and waited what seemed like hours before i got called back...finally they called my name "Meghan?" I go back with my mom, we pay the money, after that i hugged my mom....than a nurse lead me to the bathroom and asked for a urine sample than told me to wait in another waiting room with all the other same girls, we all sat there waiting to get our names called to get our finger pricked...than to get our ultrasounds....than the biggest wait was to get called back for surgery....well i went and got my finger pricked and my blood pressure checked ect ect...than waited to get my ultrasound..the nurse asked if i wanted to see....I said "no" and just asked how far i was...I was 6 weeks and 3 days....than she asked if i was a mommy already and i said yes to a 1 year old...after the fastest ultrasound ever i went back to the waiting room with the girls and sat which felt like foreverrrrr, and the nurses walked in and out and we could all hear the "sucking machines" one nurse came in and out and left the door open at one point! lol....than i found some sweet girls to talk to and we all calmed one another.....than one by one the line went and finally i was called....i went back and walked to into a nice surgical room...the nurse was making me smile and told me to undress besides my bra....than after she led me to the surgery table to lay down with my naked butt all the way at the edge of the bed,,,,with my legs up in huge stir ups...than another nurse and the nice doctor came in and he chatted with me...the IV lady that put me to sleep got me all started and looked at me and said "you are going to sleep now" and off i went...next thing i knew i woke up in a very calm good mood, got woke up by the sweetest nurses and they led me up to walk to the bathroom to put my pad in and to get dressed, than i walked to the big comfy chairs, they handed me 3 crackers and lemonade and checked my blood pressure, I didn't sit there long at all it seemed and than my parents were there to pick me up, now I am home and sooooo damn ILL!!! my daughter is all fussy which is driving me nuts, i am cramping but i cant swallow pills or the pain pills they wrote down for me to get so looks like i get to suffer...but i did crush up my antibiotic...I am not bleeding much "knock on wood" but i just feel really grumpy, short fused and just wanting to relax....now it's storming badly...which does not help.....but I did not have a bad experience...I wish i could have kept my precious baby but it's just not a good time in my life, If anyone can give me any tips on how to rest and take care of myself in this time i'd like to know further more, bless all momma's that have to go through this, we are so strong. <3

I highly recommend following up with a counselling session or two. Abortion is a very tough decision, even if you know it's the right one.

Physically, sleep as much as you can. Place something warm over your abdomen to help with the cramping.

Advil works wonders too!

Well i can only get so much sleep with a 1 year old to take care of, she is alllll over the place so it makes it difficult to sleep and rest, but i'll just have to nap when she naps, which is less than a 2 hour nap, but it's better than nothing, and it just feels like i am on a heavy period as far as cramping which is mild right now, i used to never take pain reliever for my period pains so i am used to it, even after my c-section with my daughter i didn't even take pains meds, i just dealt with it, haha, but I need to go get a heating pad stat, or heat up a warm wash cloth, but do you think in the following 5 days i could get out and walk and spend time with family ?

As long as you feel up to it, absolutely.

Keep in mind that you'll probably have lots of mood swings due to fluctuating hormones but otherwise, surround yourself with people and things that make you feel good.

didn't get the surgical I go the medical(pill)....I have a 2 yr old who is also all over the place i played some cartoon so he would sit a little lol. and I took a nap when he did that helped a lot also if you get a chance a warm bath will help and you can crush your pain pills in put them in applesauce or something of that consistency..... that's how i took mine.   good luck mama

Today I put my daughter in her high chair and gave her animal crackers and she sat there for a good hour and watched Bubble guppies and Yo gabba gabba, So today has been so much calmer, I am not bleeding like i thought i would be, just when i go to pee and wipe there is alittle bit of brown on the toilet paper so maybe because i was early theres not as much blood, I havn't even had to take any pain meds, my cramping is lightish mild and nothing that i'm not used to, Thank you for the advice sweet momma <3
