Food while camping-no camp fire

posted 10th Jul '12
Unless it rains A LOT in Colorado this week, we won't be allowed a camp fire. SO there goes all our yummy camping food ideas. We will have two camping grill things though. What are things that we could do (5 adults/2 toddlers) for 2 days of camping? My brother thought about pre making breakfast burritos. I'm sure we'll have a cooler and close to town so we could get ice in it if we need too.

eggs, bacon, burritos (i wouldn't assemble them - they'd get soggy fast, and I think they'd be more difficult to heat up than to just make fresh on the grill)

chicken, burgers, hot dogs, beans, chips, salad, sandwhiches (for lunch)

You can do a lot with grills.
And have cereal for breakfast, cold sandwiches for lunch and cook on the grill for dinner

You could also make muffins to bring. When we go, I usually make a couple boxes of the muffins (regular muffins for adults and I do the mini size for the kids) and we just have that and fruit for breakfast. They like yogurt too, or even string cheese so they get a little protein.

Thanks! I wish we could cook hot dogs on the fire. It's LO's first time camping and I feel he's not getting the whole experience because there's no fire.

DH has a lot of different idea's for the fire, I was going to let him figure the food out. I just want to have a list ready for when we all go shopping right before we head up their.

you can probably do most of what he wanted to do in the fire on the grill in foil pouches.
