which spelling?

Hubby and I like the name Robin, and Ashley as a middle name if our baby is a girl. I'm just torn on how to spell it...
I actually am leaning towards Ashleigh because my middle name is Leigh, but I'm not sure if I like the way it looks

Pretty sure that spelling of Robin is the masculine I thought it was a boys name at first so I voted Ashley but as a girl I think "Robin Ashleigh" plus its nice that its linked to yours - all individual on our influences though xx

I'm sorry you feel that way.
My mum's name was Robin and all my kids have family names so... -shrug-

I'm not happy with the flow myself, but I'm dead set on using my mum's name.

Could you find a different middle name? Or is that what your mom's middle name is, too?

Using it as a middle name would have the same effect.

I like Robin for a girl. I think it's really cute.

Im not crazy about the combo. I voted for Ashley though.

I think either is fine. I wouldn't use the "Ashleigh" spelling for a first name, but not bad for a middle.

My main concern (and it doesn't really matter I guess) is both are gender neutral names. Hard to tell if a boy of girl.

Honestly, if someone told me their child's name was Robin Ashley I would never presume it was a male. Maybe because I have only known female Robins and Ashleys...
OP, I obviously prefer ASHLEY for the spelling though I agree with the other ladies who said it doesn't flow particularly well. Have you considered changing the middle name?

I have a female friend named Robin, spelled that way. I don't automatically think "male" if I see or hear that name. I think it's a pretty name together and flows just fine. I prefer the "Ashley" spelling as I don't like "leigh" names, but since it links to your name, that would be a good reason to use it too. I voted "Ashley" though.
