how do you feel?

Morning BG,
Yesterday I lost respect for a friend of mine who gave urine to one of his friends just so he could pass a drug test. The boy is a know drug user and it makes me mad because of people like him who get jobs, and cheat others who are drug free out of a job. I know he isn't the first one to do it, but it makes me sick. Especially when I know my family members are trying as hard as they can to get a job or two!
You may not agree, but it is wrong to me for someone like that to do such a thing.
How do you feel on the subject?

I know a couple of people who have done that, but I wouldn't do it myself...

I think it's childish. Generally though, I'd assume that if you lie/cheat to get the job...you're probably not going to be a standout employee & karma will probably catch up to you in the end.

I personally wouldnt do that, but it seems to be a common thing.

My SO did that for his friend the other day . . .but his friend is a hard worker and personally i think he deserves his job. He smokes once in a while but hes not lazy or a bum.If he didnt work as hard as he does i would be pissed . . .no pun intended lol
I think its worse if you do it for somebody on probation or so they can escape jail time

I don't think childish even comes close to this. You are very right though as of right now drugs are more important that this job he's "trying" to get, that's why he is still using. Karma will catch up and when it does I wouldn't want to be him or any of them.
As far as the norm, if more people would step up and let employers know these things wouldn't happen. Yes, if I knew where the boy was attempting to get a job I surely would let the employer know what I witnessed. Call me a snitch, but its wrong to those who are trying to get a job and aren't drug users.

Probably the minority here, but... I don't really give a smurf.
It's none of my business. Ever.
I have no way of knowing what drugs the person is using in the first place. Marijuana, for example. Why do I care if someone smokes a J after work? Doesn't affect me at all. Nor does it affect their job.
What about that guy with chronic back pain who can't afford to see a doctor, so his buddy shares his pain pill script with him, he takes a pill at night so he can actually sleep without pain. How's that affecting me, or his job? It's not.
So... yeah.

i think if the drug this guy amoked or whatever is WEED... Who cares? I agree... He shouldnt have someone piss for him... But i also think they should just make it legal! Its alot safer than alcohol.. and u dont see anyone testing to see if someone is an alcoholic. Right? Just cause this guy smokes and needed a job doesnt make him a bad person... Maybe not right choice by some... But oh well.

Now see I don't agree, but that's just me. I think its wrong either way because if they do drugs off the clock who's to say they don't do them on? There is a liability there and if its construction it could cause people to get injured or more serious death because of being irresponsible. I see it as if your going to have a job atleast stay off of any type of drugs. In this time and age being able to pass your own piss test and keep or get the job without cheating or lying should be your main objective. Working hard in my opinion isn't a reason for me to give someone my urine to keep a job. If they truly deserve the job they would leave drugs alone.

That's horsesmurf.
A person deserves a job because they meet the qualifications, can do the job and do it well, and have proven themselves to be dependable employees.
It has smurf all to do with what they choose to do off the clock.

It depends on the circumstances for me.
Like, if we're talking about someone who smokes a joint now and then to relax, I don't see it as a big deal. Marijuana use, in my opinion, doesn't mean someone "deserves" a job less than anyone else.
Keep in mind, here in Canada, drug testing is not required for the vast majority of jobs...
On the other hand, if this person is a drug addict or is into harder drugs I don't think the friend is doing him any favors. I would definitely see that as a bad thing in that case.

I can see where you would feel like that, but most people who are on drugs dont even show up to work, so if they can at least do that its not that heavy of a use also i highly doubt he smokes while working but every situation is different, there are some cases where i would see fit to just let it slide.

He was caught once or twice before with cocaine. The mutual friend told me that much. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is of you use any type of drugs, and can't piss for yourself and pass it then you don't deserve the job. I know to many people who are 100% drug free and can't get a job because of people like that who do use. I know it is because of the way I was raised, but I'm happy with myself and my beliefs.

This I totally agree with but if its off the clock it shouldnt be a big deal.
