With my first we asked for another at 36 weeks thinking we could get a good pic... You really can't see anything. The baby is too big to get any good pics or see much. The 20 week is the best. Anything much after that and it's quite pointless. The size measurements are wrong, weight is wrong, you can't see a thing... So disappointing. With this one we haven't had one since 21 weeks and I'm kinda excited because when he is born it will be really awesome to see him for the first time in almost 5 months.

My doctor originally only does one. An anatomy scan at 26 weeks, but at 30 weeks I started having BP problems and now get a scan every week. But yes, in general most insurances only like to cover one medically necessary ultrasound. You can however save up and go to a 3D Ultrasound place when you get further along, its worth it! I went at 32 weeks and loved it!

We only got one ultrasound with our son when I was about 20 weeks but we've had two with our daughter already (one at 16 weeks, the other at 17) and we're getting another on the 19th (I'll be 34 weeks for that one) but we're only getting that one because nobody can figure out exactly when I'm due.

It really all depends on your doctor, how your pregnancy is going, and all that. You may be able to talk your doctor into letting you have another one later in your pregnancy though. It wouldn t hurt to ask!   Or beg...

It just depends on your pregnancy. Most ladies get one or 2. I'm high risk so I always get atleast 10ish... in which with all 3 of ny pregnancies and my #4 on his way the pics always looked good . But everyone is different and I have large babies lol..8.13, 9.9 and 10.1 all at 37 weeks. Usually if you have any complications or spotting or concerns there do another ultrasound or the hospital . But it will be exciting to see your baby after months of not seeing just feeling ;)

That's normal, Even here, Unless you need another or more for some reason, 2 is generally enough, Have you considered getting an independant (Non doctor referred) scan done? These can vary in cost, Depending on the type of scan.

I am getting a 4D video scan, And 3D stills done at 30weeks, Which is costing us $275 but that's in Australia, I'm not sure what the costs are like where you are, But it might be worth looking into.

I had one at 12 weeks, one at 13 weeks because my babies belly needed to be rechecked, one at 20 weeks, I then went for the 4D gender scan at 23 weeks - was well worth it! And then i had a frowth scan at 36 weeks but his head was too far in my Pelvis to see! But in a normal pregnancy you get a 12 and 20 week scan and pay to have extra if you want extra ones! And if you have complications then they are checked for free but you dont get pictures at those ones

It depends on your doctors office. My doctor I've had an ultrasound every visit and I'm not high rick or anything. She just prefers to do one for all her patients. Its amazing to see how.much he grows every week.
