I miss my man!

posted 11th May
My hubby left to go back to work a cruise ship. He left tuesday- i miss him so much. yesterday was my birthday and i felt really lonely. When he was here he did everything for me- he brought me my vitamin every night, he rubbed my belly with lotion and he took care of the cooking and cleaning. Now I'm alone and finding it difficult to do it all alone. I'm having ahard time with this pregnancy I still have bad nausea and persistant moring sickness throughout the days and nights. I still have no energy and I'm 14 1/2 weeks now. I know it's bad for the baby to be depressed but I don't know how to cheer up- my husband is my life and my best friend, It hurts not to have him by my side.

I know a lot of women on here have there men away for various reasons- how do you deal with it?

Get out of the house! Seriously. Try and fight the urge to just sit on the couch and watch tv... don't go to the places you and your husband frequent... even go for a roadtrip... If you don't have a job- get one... even just a fun part time job at babies r us or something!

Get your friends together and go out... do anything and avoid sad movies!!!

My husband just got back from doing a year in Iraq... and leaves again in a couple months- I'm 15 weeks. Trust me!

If you need someone to talk to I'm here!

Take care.

I just deal with it,I never had Hazels father around when I was pregnant,me and my brother share a house I think being a single parent is alot harder than being alone during pregnancy.

Thanks- so you can feel my pain. I got pregnant literally the day he came home and I thought he'd stay but the money will be very helpful. I have a job I'm a third grade teaher. It sucks cuz we live on a small island and I can't go anywhere that doesn't remind me of my love. But your right I need to go outside more.

listen to the advice the girl above me gave...dont just sit around...get up, go walk around the mall, go to Walmart, start looking at baby things you will be needing...just get out! My husband was deployed last year, but luckily I wasnt pregnant and I had a full time job plus school that took all of my time...if you havent finished school,. look into summer classes...they help pass the time, and now is the time to do it bc he wont be a distraction ! Good luck!

Hi there
My hubby was first in the Army so was away alot, and now he works overseas doing 8 weeks away and 4 at home. First when it was just us I through myself into work, then when we had our first child I took up scrapbooking and now with four kids and the fifth due in a few weeks I don't have enough time in the day to worry so much. It is defiantely easier to cope with them being away once you have baby as all your energy will be put into them. I also like the fact that everytime he comes home I get butterflies in my stomach just like when we first met - take me back to the good old days 14 yrs nearly. Appreciate your alone time be positive about it there are just as many ups to this as there are downs but just keep focused on the positives and you will be right!

I'm not in any way comparing myself to being a single parent.

I agree... Eventually... it's sort of nice to have the bed all to yourself... and to be able to make ALL of the decisions. haha. And then when they come home it's all wonderful again... and poof! you have a new baby. So look at it this way... you just have SOOOOO much more to look forward to!

Hopefully they're going to give my husband emergency leave so we can induce labor... around my due date so he can be there for the birth... I've got my fingers crossed! But then he'll only be home for 2 weeks... and then deploy AGAIN for another 12 months (because the army does 15 month deployments now! and he won't fit into the new year window SUCK!)

I AM very thankful this time that I'll have something (baby) to occupy me this time... We JUST moved so I still don't know anyone. hahaha.

Fun fun.

Girl you do me a favor, go enjoy the beaches and torment tourists... that should be enough to make you laugh!!!

Can you go visit your family? School should be up soon right?

The kids only have 3 weeks of classes left. I don't think I'll be able to go home because of the cost of the ticket- i could but we need to be saving money right now and that would make us broke for a bit. Tormenting tourists is always fun... The bed to myself is definatly a plus. I think I might get a job for the summer vacation. Luckily we get paid for the summer holiday but it would occupy my time and give us some extra cash.

It sucks that ur hubby is away so much but i know what you mean when they get home- mine came home a couple weeks early and showed up valentines night at my door- i closed it back on him and then when i opened it again i was like oh my god ur it IS you! I love that part. He was gone 10 months- this time he will be gone until its time for the baby to come- and hopefully he will stay home.

Anyways its nice to hear you ladies are getting through it- i no i will. Just sad right now.He gets to beall over europe while i suffer. But I do live on the beach...

hahaha see! You're sounding better already.

So... if he works for a cruise line... doesn't that mean there's perks involved? Like as soon as you're ready you can go on
a cheap family vacation?!?!

That bum... running all over the planet and leaving you living on the beach on some exotic island... The nerve of some people!!!
hahaha.

No shit! THAAT would be nice!!!

I know what you mean though... about the novelty wearing off... I'm from a big tourist area... Ever heard of Nantucket? It's ridiculous... That's why the whole "tormenting the tourists" thing came up. MAN I love that shit... ANYTHING to keep occupied...
This past summer I actually took a job at a tourist trap for the SOLE reason that I wanted to give bad directions. hahah. Awful? I know! But man when you've lived somewhere like that all your life with all the goddamn celebrities and rich people thinking there the shit, you need some good clean retribution. Ya know?

haha oh well.
