What is it?

I'm having back pain/pinching that happens every few minutes with some pressure on my stomach. It is very uncomfortable, but the discomfort is not getting worse. Does this sound like Braxton Hicks?

My BH never hurt, they were always just uncomfortable pressure. I think it's different for everyone, though! Have you tried calling the after-hours nurses at your OB?

My OB doesn't have an after hours line. I live about a half an hour away from the nearest hospital with L&D too and if I call them they automatically tell me I'd need to come in for them to even tell me what's going on. They won't give me advise with what I say to them on the phone. They say they're not allowed to give information over the phone.

Sounds like contractions. every ob should have a after hours line. I say drink some water and lay on your left side. If they do not stop or subside then you need to head in.. Baby is way to tiny to come out now

I suppose that makes sense since they would be liable if, say, a woman tried to induce labor or something.

I'm sorry no one else has answered your post.   I honestly don't know if your pains are BH or not.

I always wondered why they don't. My OB told me though since they don't have one, I would need to go into L&D if I had a problem. Thanks for your help. I'll drink some water and lay down. I'm hoping they go away soon. I'm not ready for him to come out and you're right, I don't think he's ready to come out yet either.

That sounds like contractions. I would go get checked my bh never really hurt they were just annoying. with you still being so far from your due date you want to stop labor before its to late and if it ends up being bh you at least k now your baby is safe inside your womb!

It sounds like contractions though? Pinching of the lower back and tightening pressure (that doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable) in the stomach? It's only the lower back that kind of hurts because of the pinching. I just want to be sure before I made an assumption.  

ive known people that are premature. your about one month away?
if it doesn't get any better in the next hr or so, i'd say go to the hospital to get it checked out, & pay attention to your panties, look out for blood, or mucus/discharge. i hope everythings ok, try taking a warm bath with bubbles to relax your body.

I actually had some white gooey like discharge this morning. The pain seemed to subside once I laid down for a bit. Oh and yes, I'm due in about 5 1/2 weeks. Thanks for your help.

I'm feeling a lot better today. The contractions stopped. I have a dr appointment tomorrow so I'm going to just let him know what happened. Thanks!
