Need help with child and sleeping

posted 9th Jul '12
So my kid can go to bed at 3 in the morning and wake up at 8. SERIOUSLY. He is 5 years old. Since there is no school, he hasnt been on a schdule which I know is smurfing him up.

But what are some ways that can make him sleep longer and earlier? He bounces off the freaking wall from the minute he gets up until he sacks out. He rarely takes a nap anymore. And he sacks out at 6 - 7, and if I dont wake him up he will be up at 1 or 2 in the morning until god knows when.

So any tips would be GREAT. I plan on taking him to the doctor in the next couple weeks for it because it is driving me and my grandmother insane.

Quoting Mrs. Brightside:" does he eat/drink a lot of sugar in the day? maybe try melatonin?"

No he doesnt eat or drink a lot of sugary stuff during the day, he is only allowed to have a caprisun at lunch, kinda like a compromise. I will try melatonin, I have some. I know he will think that "sugar" is in his water. I dont have the liquid kind so it has to dissolve in the water.

Put him in bed at 9:30PM every night. That's it. He doesn't make the rules, you do.
