Milk substitute

posted 9th Jul '12
My daughter is now 12 months and I do not want to put her on cows milk. So i was wondering if anyone has tried other things like almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, rice milk.. etc. Not sure i want to put her on soy milk cause of the estrogen. So i was thinking about almond milk, but do i have to worry about a nut allergy? Ive talked to her dr and she knows i dont want to put her on cows milk and i plan to discuss what i do choose with the dr, but just wanted to see what eveyone else is doing and get opinions.

Thanks

Sorry I'm no help at all, but I'm curious.. What is the reason for not using cow milk?

I stay away from soy as much as I possibly can.
My friend gives her kids and herself, lol rice milk and almond milk.

My kids drank soy formula and now drink almond milk or lactose free milk. They dislike the rice milk. My DD has a lactose allergy so I never chanced it with my son.

yes, if there is family history. and sometimes even if there is not. Although peanut is the most common allergy
