When dieting

Should there be a limit on how much fresh fruit you eat? Like, is there such a thing as too much fresh fruit when trying to lose weight?

Yes. Fruit is high in natural sugars which your body treats as carbohydrates.

Fruit is definitely the best choice when you want something sweet. But it should be eaten in moderation....just like everything else.

Basically treat fruits as a treat, or a dessert. You do want them, but they shouldn't be a huge part of your diet. Fresh veggies are the thing you want the most of. They are so high in nutrients that your body needs, not to mention you can eat a crap ton of them and still be eating low calorie, lol.

You do want carbs, don't get me wrong, but you should get them from a variety of places. Fruit, whole grains, oatmeal, that kind of stuff.

If you're feeling hungry you might try eating a little something with protein and fat. A little fat goes a long way to feeling satiated, especially when accompanied by protein. I have issues with hunger just before bedtime and it makes it a lot harder for me to get to sleep, so sometimes I'll have one of those Land O Lakes Snack'N Cheese for 90 calories. It works pretty well for me.

Greek yogurt is a great night time snack for me. The protein in it helps keep me satisfied until breakfast the next morning. Whenever I don't eat one, I tend to wake up starving!

I love yogurt but for some reason I have never tried Greek yogurt. I'm due for the grocery store tomorrow and you've inspired me to pick some up. I <3 protein.   If I'm a fan of vanilla yogurt, should I be looking for the same in Greek? Or plain? Or?

Plain greek yogurt is gross. The only time I use that is if I'm mixing it into a smoothie or an over-night oatmeal.

They do have vanilla, but I haven't tried it. I'm sure it's good though. My favorites are strawberry-banana and peach. I buy the Chobani brand.

you can find alot of greek yogurt with up to 18 grams of protein, and if you love protein, cottage cheese is just as high.

I appreciate the referral but the mere thought of cottage cheese makes my skin crawl. I wish I liked it though, it really is a wonderful food.

Some of those look reaaally good. I'll have to see if I can make them sugar free but I don't see why not.

Totally hijacked your thread OP, sorry.
