He started a little after 4.5 when he could. He mostly learned in preschool. He went two full years.

Not right at first. I thought that was something they teach them as well as making sure they know their abc's and 123's.

I work at a daycare and we try to teach the 3 year olds this but we also understand they are still very young.

My son is 4 and he is the same... he can write absolutely anything if he sees it. He has to copy it. He knows his letters and how to write them but doesn't know how to spell and can't remember the order they go in his name. I think that's normal and I don't think they need to be able to write their name in pre-k.

Kayleigh can, as long as she has a visual. It's not always pretty, but she turns 4 this month, and she does a wonderful job.

Yep he could at 3. But he has a short easy name. I wouldn't expect a child with a long Or complicated name to be able to write it at 4

my daughter is 4 and starting Pre-k she doenst have to know how to write her name to get into the pre-k program. and she cant write it yet. but for some reason she always writes "10101010101010101010101010" lol

my daughter can write her name and read several words w/out help.

we were out to dinner at a buffet, she read "exit" "steak" and sounded out
"cotton candy"

Mine can't write her name, but she is the best artist ever. Lol.

My 4 year old can but he isn't always willing to when you ask, usually he just says "I can't do it". It's something that they should learn in pre-k.

My daughter can spell HOT by memory for some reason, but she doesnt know she's writing it. She just says she's writing. Lol

Yes, she can. First and last. But no, they don't need to already know how to do that. They will teach them that in Pre-K.

keagan can from memory and a few other words like cat, dog,, kids..they do a lot of K like learning activities at his school.

Yep he can write his first and last name, mommy, dad, and poop lol Hes been allllll about writing and spelling and will sit at the table for an hour asking me how to spell every word he can think of. It honestly amazes me.
