39 weeks as of yesterday

so i went to the dr today and he gave me a pelvic exam and said i'm only a little over one centimeter dilated. and when he was giving me the exam it kind of hurt, is this normal? did anyone elses exams hurt? this is the first time he's checked to see if i was dilated btw.

Totally normal. Mine always hurt. You might have a little bit of spotting too which is totally normal as well.

It does hurt when they internally check you. You may notice some spotting as well.

ok good. i was alittle tense so that might of been why too. he kept telling me to relax but my body was not having it lol.

since it did hurt though and im already 39 weeks does that mean i still have a week or two before i go into labor? that's what my dr made it sound like?

yes due dates r just estimates u can dialate quick or stay at 1 or 2 for weeks good news is most doc dont let u go more then a week past ur due date  

when i got check it didnt hurt but they also told me i was close "/

yea i already talked to my dr about being induced and he said he won't induce me unless im two weeks past my due date )':

my due date is the 19th but it will also be my 3rd c section if i dont go into labor in the next ten days as of saturday i wasnt dialated at all

aw well hopefully you go into labor soon. i really hope i don't have to have a c section!

My doctor started checking me at 36 weeks and I remember it hurt like a you know what at every appt until my 39 week just yesterday it really didn't hurt as much. I wonder if it is because I'm really close. I am 2 1/2 centimeters and 70% effaced   Come on baby   good luck with everything.

ohkay good, because mine hurt a lot more then i thought it would and my dr was kind of looking at me like i was stupid lol. i'm pretty sure he said i was almost completely effaced, but only 1 cm, so hopefully at my 39 week i've dilated more and it won't hurt haha. and thanks! you too!! (:
