Labor Story: Harlee Marie

My due date was 6/25/2012 but I went over due again and got induced on 7/2/2012. Me and SO and our kids went into L&D at about 9:30am to start induction. Around 10am my doc put that pill in my cervix to try and start it all (i'm st 2cm). My SO and kids stayed with me until noon and then they had to go home so he could feed the kids and so they could nap. So I was just me in the hospital. (side note: we just moved to Montana about 3 months ago so we didn't have any family out here and the girl that was supposed to watch our kids for us bailed so I would be delivering our baby alone with out my SO or anyone) I got up to walk around to try and get some contractions and I walked the halls for about 2 hours and started to get some contractions. So I got in back in bed so they could be monitored. I got tried of siting in bed so I got on one of them big balls and tried rolling my pelvic to get labor going some more. At 4:30pm my Doc came in and checked me and I was about 4 cm. So he deiced that it was time to break my water. When he broke my water he saw that Harlee had a bow movement inside me. So they were going to be watching her heart rate close and watching me close. From the time they broke my water to around 8:30pm my contractions basically stopped. So they started me on pitocen. at 9pm.A hour and half later I was asking for the pain meds. but right before i got them my face started going numb and her heart rate dropped rapidly. They wanted to wait to give me my pain meds until my doc was there cause they were thinking i was going to need a C section ASAP. But I got my pain meds and started to relax and everything started to go back to normal. I was so scared cause I was doing this all alone. So after I couldn't feel the pain of my contractions I stopped crying and got to take off my oxygen mask.I am laying in bed and I can feel my contractions but they didn't hurt and around 11:20pm or so I was having a small feeling to push but for whatever reason didn't say anything to the nurses right away. This continued for about 10 mins or so and then finally in the middle of a contraction I felt on there and felt the top of her head ready to come out. So I called for the nurse and she was going to check me and when she tried she told them to hurry and get my Doc in there it was time to push. So I texed my SO at 11:47pm that it was time to push and to get here ASAP so he had to wake the kids and get them ready. Well at 11:55pm she was born. I pushed her out in 3 pushes. I texted my SO that she was here and they were just heading out the door. I got to cut her umbilical cord. Harlee was 9lbs 2oz amd 21 &1/2 inches. She had a head full of dark hair. My SO and our other 2 kids got there 20 mins later. They all loved her of corse

Harlee and that DARK hair! So funny that Aeris and Konner have such light colored hair and she's got those dark locks! Love it! Also enjoy seeing the pictures with the kiddos and Dan. Everyone looks so happy to have her join the family. You did great, so proud of you!
