homicidal person on parole

posted 9th Jul '12
If someone is on parole and the person is violating the terms of the parole and has admitted to being homicidal, describing how he would kill said person. How do you handle it?
There is a child involved, the child is not being abused but has been brainwashed to believe he is the good guy.and that the mother is bad.
There is NO custody agreement through the courts, they are still legally married.

How would you get info on the persons PO?
Would this person go back to prison or just be watched more closely?

Any advice would be good.

If someone was to report what he was doing, they will most likely want some type of evidence of him doing so before they would send him back. But I would report it anyways... I would get a divorce from the person and take custody away....

ETA: I would also file a restraining order against the person... and tell the police what is going on.

Look up the number for the probation/parole office and let them know that you are concerned that a parolee is going to commit a crime and you need to speak with their officer. They should be able to give you all the info you need.

If you know what prison he was in you could start there. You could also go to the court house and make them aware! I do not have much knowledge on this, but If it were me I would file for legal separation and then immediatly for custody and an order of protection!!! Try to get anything showing that he is indeed homicidal and present it as proof for custody!

You can call his Parole Officer and speak to him/her.

Yet, pretty much...If he's not doing drugs, drinking, or violating terms of his parole....They cannot revoke his parole.

Claiming to be homicidal isn't against the law, really. But you could call the PO and inform them of what is going on.

They can at least put a 72 hour hold on him, which might be best. Sounds like he has a loose screw that needs to be tweaked!

Have her call the local Bar Association Office. They'll be able to give her community referrals for free legal services.

Sorry to hear that. My husband is also on parole, unsupervised and..he's almost off. I'm kind of familiar with parole and how it works.

I suppose there's A LOT more to the story than what you've posted here..It's a little on the vague side. But all in all, he has to be violating some rule (he should have a list of restrictions and such) in order to be sent back for violating parole. Some PO's are more lenient than others and etc. But I'd definitely call, tell them the situation, tell them there is a child involved, and see what they can do.

I don't know how it works exactly and I don't know if its the same where you are. My sister didn't use a lawyer to get her divorce and got her kids custody. But I just went through this with a friend. If you put an add in the news paper for so many days continuously saying you want a divorce and that you've been trying to contact them and put it in the local news paper around your area, the divorce can be finalized that way. I don't know how it works with children in the mix tho... but its something to look into

I don't believe you can get a simple divorce like that if there are shared assets and children.

Basically after 20 years together my dad went to prison..my mom left and got a boyfriend.
He's been on drugs since he was 16,verbally,mentally,phycially and sometimes sexually abusive.

He wants her to die

Most of the time, parole restrictions say no alcohol. So, if he can get caught drinking or abusing his pain meds, then he can definitely get sent back. As bad as it is to say, it wouldn't hurt to let his PO know that one too. (;
