Did I pick the wrong name??

Does anyone else have a problem calling their child by name? I don't know if I've just called her by nicknames too much or what but my daughters name don't really fit her but then again none of the names I think of do. She's only 3 months old. . . . Will she grow into it or is there a chance I'll get used to calling her by name when she starts getting in trouble? Lol

I always felt weird using my children's names when they were little babies lol. I don't know why. Now I can't imagine them being called anything else

Yeah, I let SO name our child, her name is Lilith, but it just doesnt sit right with me, so I call her Lilly and introduce her to people as Lilly, much nicer IMO

That makes Me feel better. Right now I just call her boo boo lol

I pickeD my daughters name out when I was about 3 months pregnant and I still love the name. I don't know what it is. I was expecting her to be a blonde and even when she was crowning the nurse said she was blonde but she's a brunette. So maybe because I pictured somethin different my whole pregnancy caused this.

It was like that DD, I kept wanting to call her Lily instead of her actual name being Esmé but I don't now she's 7 months. Its something you get used to.

Yes. We didn't pick a name untill we saw him. So for the 1 st couple weeks I'ld get a " what's your name again" feeling.-- if that makes since, it's 2 am here.

Maybe. You pictured your child one way with a name to match and now it doesn't. I know when I'm picking a name, I picture what the person will look like with a specific name and that's sometimes how I get rid of name.

my half-sister and half-brother grew up being called "Buddy" and "Macy" even though their birth names were Andrew and Stephanie. Nobody EVER called them those names and eventually Buddy changed his name to Tobias (not sure if he legally changed it or not .. he's 23 now) and Macy legally changed her name to Macy (she's 21).

With Ethan I was happy to call him anything then the name that my ex wanted to name him.

Now, with this baby, I keep wanting to call him something other then the name we chosen...but its done. We won't even think of looking at other names because boys are hard for us to name. His name is going to be William Chase and we will call him Chase. I think a lot of my problem is that people comment "oh your going to be doing a lot of that in a few years"

... so stupid.

I feel awkward using my son's name and I often find myself referring to him as "hey you" and "young man/sir" haha! We were told he was going to be a she and had picked girls names but we were so shocked when he was born and he had no name for about 3 days. Now I feel a bit bad because his first and last name are a joke. His last name is Otter and his first is Terryk so when you say it together it's terra-cotta. I just feel bad saying it :-/

Why would u name your kid a joke name?
