friend miscarrying ...

My friend miscarried again last night, I don't know the full story, but she had been diagnosed with PID and then after they cured it was told she could never concieve. Well, she hadn't had her period for 2 months after that, and right after the p-test finally came back positive, something awful happened- all I know is that it was eptopic. This is her fourth m/c and I feel awful for her, it's weird especially being almost 7 months pregnant myself, I feel horrible. She didn't really want her babies, any of them, she was still smoking and doing drugs ... but I know it still must suck for her. Things do happen for areason but at this rate I know she thinks she'll never concieve. I guess what I'm saying is, how do you console a friend on such a tough topic ... I m/c myself before this pregnnacy at 7 weeks, but I can't imagine going thru it so many times.

Umm if she didn't want the babies and was still doing drugs then maybe God was trying to tell her that she doesn't deserve a baby. And tell her that since she has conceived 3 times she could probably do it again...and for her babies sake...lay off the drugs...some people!

I know, trust me, I feel the same way. But that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt for her, just like anyone else who m/c's.

I don't want to sound mean... But I agree, how can she be upset about miscarrying when she didn't even care to stop doing drugs? Obviously, if she didn't want the babies to begin with, did drugs and stuff while pregnant, I doubt she's honeslty sad/regretful about any of it.

I didnt think Pelvic Inflammatory Disease was curable??
Doesn't that develop when you leave Chlamydia or a a Bacterial infection untreated for a long time  

Anyway, i wouldn't try to console her if she doesnt even care about losing her babies. Sorry but she sounds like an idiot in so many ways.

I agree with the previous posters, it doesn't sound like she is that upset about it if she doesn't even stop drugs long enough to give the baby a chance. To answer the PID question, yes it can be caused by untreated infections (chlamydia, gonorrhea, etc), but it can also be caused by IUDs and various other things. The PID is treated with antibiotics and it can lead to scarring of the uterus and scarred/blocked tubes (i.e. the ectopics). My advice to her would be to give her the support if she needs it, but also to calm it down if she ever wants to have kids, b/c more than likely, it is not going to be a snap for her to get pregnant and carry a healthy baby to term without some medical help. Aside from that, if she is having the have multiple d&c's, that certainly isn't going to help the scarring that is already there.
