single parents - this holiday season.

Single mama's, how does your holiday normally look? Thanksgiving through new years?

I'm looking for an idea of how your time is split and how you're handling relatives, etc if you have limited time.

My daughters father has not yet wanted to spend time with her during the holidays when we weren't together. This will be the second holiday like this. On the off chance he does want to spend time with her in a clean, safe, drug-free environment, what can I expect as far as how that works? What's fair? Keeping in mind he rarely, rarely sees her and she's spent her holidays/birthdays with me and my family. We (myself and LO) do visit his family when we're invited, which is 2-3 x a year.

Last year, Z's dad wanted nothing to do with her... This year, I *think* it will be the same but if he's sober and clean and wants to spend time with her, I want to have an idea of what I'll be working with. This will be her third Christmas/Thanksgiving etc and now that she's bigger I'm thinking he may want more involved, but I just don't know. SOrry   I'll edit OP.

Cora's dad and i work together really good.

Generally, the day OF the holiday, Cora is with me. She goes to see him the day after, or the day before. This is cause we usually go out of town on the day of the holiday

however, if we don't go out of town, I let Cora go to his house for the holiday

Like I said, we work together really good about stuff like this.

If you go to court, the judge will set up holiday visitation, if you guys can't work it out peacefully

if he hasnt been around just let him have your child christmas eve i feel thanksgiving an christmas are more fun/important then that night so you want the good ones lol

I doubt he'd actually want Christmas, because he thinks I make it really awesome and fun and he wouldn't want to have to deal with that effort... It sucks because it's a six hour round trip and he will probably only either pick her up or drop her off, so that's gonna suck, not looking forward to that either lol.
