Tuesday when I went to the doctor they told me I was 3-4 cm and probably wouldn't make it past 2-3 days. Thursday morning when I woke up I could feel contractions in my lower back. But.... they weren't regular so I went to work anyways. I also had some bleeding. Around noon the contractions started to get more regular, coming about every 10 minutes apart. I called my hubby who works an hour and a half from the house around 2:30 and told him he might wanna think about heading home. When I got off work at 4, my contractions were about 6-7 minutes apart, so I took a shower and about an hour later when the contractions were 4-5 minutes apart we went to the hospital. We got there around 6 nd they hooked me up to the little machine that times the contractions. Around 7 they decided I was definitely in labor and that I was 5-6cm. I asked them when I could get my epidural (im such a wimp) and they told me the guy was about an hour away but he was coming. When he finally got there, there were 3 girls ahead of me to get the epidural. (One who had been there since 8am!) By 10pm I was 9 1/2cm and FINALLY got my epidural. Around 11 or so they decided I was ready to start pushing. After having an episiotomy, Brittany Kadence was born at 11:49pm, weighing 7lbs 8 oz and was 21.25 inches long.
