26-30 week preemie?

Any one have there baby around 26-30 weeks.. How did they do and how long where they in the NICU?

Been having contractions and a little worried about her coming early within the next month so I just have to ask this. My son was almost a 31 weeker and thankfully stayed put until he was full term.

My daughter was born at 27 weeks. She spent 9 weeks in the NICU. I had the steroid shots before she was born, so luckily she didn't ever have to be put on a ventilator, was just on CPAP for almost a month. She did have necrotizing enterocolitis, but it cleared up with antibiotics and no oral feeds for a week. She also had retinopathy of prematurity.

She went home on oxygen (which we only used for 48 hours) and an apnea monitor (which we used for about 6 months.) She is a happy, healthy almost 13-year-old today.

My friend did and her baby was the size of ur palm and was only about 1 lb when she was born she spent 5 and a half months in a level 1 NICU bed and had to be transported to a different hospital then where she delivered. She had to have a few surgerys and now has glasses at the age 1.

honey i would call ur ob i had a 31 weeker he weighed 4 lb 14 oz no problems took him home 3 days later knw hes 2
and this time around my other son tried to come at 30 weeks and am 4 cm and forthat am on bed rest :/

My daughter was born at 30 weeks, she was 3 lbs. She was breathing on her own 24 hours after she was born, and progressed so well. She spent 4 weeks in the NICU, and now she's a completely healthy, happy 2 year old.

Have u called Ur ob about the contractions?

Already called l&d, Since they spaced out from taking a bath they said no need to come in unless I really wanted to but most likely they would send me home since they arent close together anymore, Which with a sick SO and 3 year old who wont sleep its hard for me to do right now, They said unless they pick back up I should just relax for the rest of the night and see if I can see my OB tomorrow if anything. And I guess since they didnt say yes come in asap my insurance can refuse payment {happened with my son} and I really cant afford that bill.

My twin neices were born at 27 weeks. They stayed right at 4 months in the NICU but pretty much after that they have been fine. Esme has speach delays but Anna is totally fine! Good luck!

My OB is not on call tonight so I can not call him. I can call him in the morning.

I think twins will be different then a singleton ?? Since their is two developing instead of one.

Kale was born at 32 weeks and was 5 lbs 6 oz 16 inches long. They said he woulda been 11 lbs full term lol I ate the hell outta everything and gained 50 lbs at only 7 1/2 months lol. He was breathing on his own as well, they only had oxygen canunels(SP) in his nose for precaution. He however did not learn how to eat for a month and had a horrible case of jaundice that is why he stayed a month christmas day to superbowl sunday.

Cadence was born at 30 weeks 3.5 lb and stayed in the NICU for 30 days.

My little one was born at 28+4 was on CPAP for 24hrs just as a precaution had no problems ever left the hospital at 35w (earliest they are allowed to leave) and is now a chunky monkey at 11lbs   Don't worry too much that can make it worse

DD was born at 27/4, only 4 hours after the first steroid shot to help her lungs. She weighed 1 lb 7 oz and was 12.5 inches long. She was intubated for about 5 hours and then on CPAP for a few weeks. She was too tiny for a nasal cannula but they eventually got one small enough for her and got her off that horrible CPAP (it had made her belly swell up something horrible).
Otherwise she did pretty well until she was about to be discharged and they found that she had pneumonia from aspirating on a bottle. She stayed another 10 days, totaling 74 days in the NICU at 38 weeks (should've been 36.5 though)
The only real delays she has right now are because she's not as strong in her arms and neck but she's improving and almost crawling. But mentally she is surpassing her adjusted age!
She's now 14.5 lbs. She's 3.5 weeks from being 1!!
