Anyone have a thyroid problem?

What were your symptoms of a thyroid problem? I had my thyroid checked about 6 months or so ago and it was fine but lately have been having a weird feeling below my adams apple like a thickness type hand around my throat feeling. Just curiuos as to what your symptoms were? I also have anxiety and sweaty palms at times but not sure if thats anxiety related. TIA

Yeah get it rechecked. You might have a goiter. That's the same feeling I would get. Like a tightness around my throat and if anyone would like "fake choke" me or anything it'd feel REALLY weird and I'd freak out.

I had a 3cm goiter.

yeah its like a lump feeling in my throat. It just started recently im kinda afraid to get it checked   it also kinda feels like ill throw like the feeling you get in your throat before you vomit :/. what other symptoms did you have? and what type of tests did they run to figure out you had something wrong and had a goiter?

Get a glass of water and put two fingers on the base of your throat (like where you feel the lump). Swallow a swig of water and see if you feel anything move up and down.

Here is the sypmtoms list:

• Sudden weight loss, even when your appetite and diet remain normal or even increase
• Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia) — commonly more than 100 beats a minute — irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) or pounding of your heart (palpitations)
• Increased appetite
• Nervousness, anxiety and irritability
• Tremor — usually a fine trembling in your hands and fingers
• Sweating
• Changes in menstrual patterns
• Increased sensitivity to heat
• Changes in bowel patterns, especially more frequent bowel movements
• An enlarged thyroid gland (goiter), which may appear as a swelling at the base of your neck
• Fatigue, muscle weakness
• Difficulty sleeping

I tried that but dont know if i can feel anything. I have alot of the symptoms.. my periods have become out of whack like really long cycles. Difficulty sleeping. anxiety, heart palps, fatigue, but i have weight gain not weight loss

Weight gain can be a symptom too. You can have a combo of symptoms from hypo and hyper. I had a combination. You may also need to be checked for Grave's and Hashimoto's especially if you have a combo of symptoms. Also, you need to see a doc and have them physically FEEL for a goiter. It's possible to have a goiter or thyroid problem, yet your levels come back "in range".

Make an appt with an endocrinologist if you can.

was extreemly tired..feeling drained and exausted. Weight gain. i would only have a period every four months. i was freezing cold all the time. depressed. cranky. sore throat and a hoarse voice
my thyroid was underactive. now im on meds for it.

Aw thanks. Still working. I'm on 88mg Synthroid, but I know I need a higher dose. My levels are "in range", but I still have symptoms so whatever... LOL

Same. My voice would be hoarse especially in the morning.

TSH 1.97
Free T3 3.0
Free T4 .91

Just off the top of my head I know your T4 is borderline high. 5 is max.
